Travelers flying from Jeddah should double-check their departure terminal, as a batch of flights that previously operated from the North Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport has been moved to Terminal 4 and the Hajj and Umrah terminals from 17 October 2026.
The change follows the phased launch of Terminal 4, which began operations on 27 September 2026. The first airlines transferred to the new terminal were Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir.
A later phase added more carriers, including Fly Jinnah, Nesma Airlines, Akasa Air, SyrianAir, Pegasus, Azerbaijan Airlines, and Tunisair. The overall move covered foreign airlines operating from the North Terminal, along with selected foreign carriers from Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah terminal complex.
What travelers should do
Because departure points have shifted across several terminals, passengers are advised to confirm the correct terminal before heading to the airport. The safest step is to check the departure terminal on the airport's official channel or directly with the airline, as terminal assignments can vary by carrier and route.
For Jeddah's large community of residents and frequent flyers, arriving at the right terminal from the start can save time and reduce stress, especially during busy travel periods. Allowing extra time and verifying details in advance remains the simplest way to avoid confusion on the day of travel.
