Maritime, logistics, government, and business leaders gathered at the Jeddah Superdome on 21–22 October 2026 for the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress 2026, where discussions focused on strengthening supply-chain resilience across the Kingdom and the wider region.

The two-day event brought together the Transport General Authority, the Saudi Ports Authority, port operators, logistics companies, and private-sector businesses. Conversations covered trade-route diversification, port connectivity, and integrated sea–land transport, along with ways to keep cargo flowing smoothly through better information sharing and simplified approvals.

The program was built around five main areas: trade corridors and connectivity; ports and logistics competitiveness; the maritime energy transition; infrastructure investment; and technology and resilience. Speakers also addressed developments at the Suez Canal, alternative shipping routes, and how to maintain continuity in cargo movement during disruptions.

Why it matters

Saudi Arabia's trade and logistics sector has been expanding quickly. Saudi ports handled more than 5.2 million containers by the end of August 2026, and the Kingdom added more than 33 new maritime shipping services during the year, widening the country's connections to global markets.

For residents and businesses, a more resilient supply chain means steadier movement of goods, improved port efficiency, and stronger links between sea and land transport. These improvements support the growth of trade, manufacturing, and e-commerce, and help position the Kingdom as a key hub between major shipping routes.
