KAUST Padel Season Opener Runs Sept 13-18

Padel players in the KAUST community can gear up for the Padel Season Opener Tournament, running from September 13 to 18, 2026 at the Racquet Club Padel Courts in Thuwal. Matches take place daily between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. across separate men's and women's categories, open to participants aged 18 and above.

Registration is handled through the tournament's online form on the KAUST internal recreation portal, with a firm deadline of September 11, 2026. The participation fee is set at 150 SAR with no additional per-match court fees during event hours. Players with questions can reach the organizers at recreation@kaust.edu.sa.

Winners in each category will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, while the top team takes home a championship trophy. Beyond the podium finishes, players will vote on a series of individual honors, including the Sportsmanship Award, Most Valuable Player, Best Offensive Player, Best Defender, Crowd Favorite, and Best Duo.

The tournament is limited to KAUST community members who meet the age and category requirements. With padel continuing to grow rapidly in popularity across the Kingdom, the six-day event offers residents a chance to compete, connect, and enjoy one of Saudi Arabia's fastest-rising sports in a friendly, community-focused setting.
