Grassroots cricket is growing steadily across Saudi Arabia, with a community network that now includes more than 80 cricket clubs and expanding programs for players of all ages in cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

At the heart of the movement is the National Cricket Championship, which brings together 14 regional associations, 405 teams, and nearly 7,500 players. The competition features 1,160 matches played across 101 grounds, reflecting the scale of organized cricket in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation is broadening its school, academy, and community initiatives, including boys’ and girls’ competitions at the Under-16 and Under-19 levels. National school-cricket activity is now reported in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, giving young players structured pathways into the sport.

Clubs and academies open their doors

In Jeddah, the Net Indoor Cricket Academy offers structured coaching for about SAR 300, though session details and current timings are not specified. Nearby in Thuwal, the KAUST Cricket Club lists annual membership at SAR 100 and non-member event access at SAR 50, and offers a free junior cricket season for children aged 6 to 16 within its community, with current dates and timings not yet confirmed.

Looking ahead, the federation has announced the Dunes T20 League, a six-team professional competition planned to begin in October 2026, signaling a new stage for the sport’s development in the Kingdom.

For Saudi Arabia’s large community of residents and expats, the expansion offers more accessible opportunities to play, train, and compete locally. Fees, booking procedures, and venue schedules may vary by club, so interested players are encouraged to confirm the latest details directly with their nearest club or academy.
