Melwah Racing 2026 Draws Falcon Owners to Malham

Falcon owners and professionals gathered in Malham, north of Riyadh, for Melwah Racing 2026, held from 4 to 9 October 2026 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center as part of the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition.

The competition ran across 12 rounds on a 200-metre course, covering six types of falcons. Entries were split into two categories: owners and amateurs, and elite and professionals. Participation was limited to falcon chicks purchased through the International Falcon Breeders Auction.

The total prize pool reached SAR 723,000. The owners and amateurs category carried SAR 261,000, while the elite and professionals category offered SAR 462,000. In a typical owners and amateurs round, prizes ranged from SAR 15,000 for first place down to SAR 10,000 for second, SAR 7,500 for third, SAR 6,000 for fourth, and SAR 5,000 for fifth.

What's New This Year

The 2026 edition expanded to 12 rounds, double the six rounds held in previous years, giving more participants the chance to compete and reflecting growing interest in falcon racing across the Kingdom.

The event highlights the deep cultural ties between Saudi communities and falconry, a heritage pastime that continues to attract residents and visitors alike. By pairing competition with the wider falcons and hunting exhibition, the gathering offered a space for enthusiasts to connect and celebrate a tradition that remains part of the country's identity.
