The National Center for Falcons has announced its seventh annual falcon auction, set to run from October 1 to November 30, 2026, at the center's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh. The event will feature juvenile migratory peregrine falcons (Shaheen Bahri) captured inside Saudi Arabia.
This year's auction is limited to locally captured juvenile migratory peregrines, while adult peregrines (Qarnas) and saker falcons (Hur) are excluded. Buying and selling transactions are conducted without fees, and there is no fixed entry price or official price list — prices are determined entirely through open bidding.
Those interested can attend or follow the auction, bid on eligible falcons, and complete the sale through the auction's dedicated sales-documentation platform. Live coverage is provided through television and the center's social-media channels, making it easy for enthusiasts across the Kingdom to follow along.
Why it matters
The auction has grown into a notable fixture for the Kingdom's falconry community. Since 2020, it has sold 455 falcons for a combined value of approximately SAR45.286 million. For 2026, organizers have further streamlined and documented sales through the dedicated platform, adding transparency for buyers and sellers alike.
Falconry remains a deeply rooted heritage practice in Saudi Arabia, and events like this connect long-standing traditions with modern, organized marketplaces. Residents and enthusiasts looking to participate can follow the center's official channels for live updates throughout the two-month run.
