The Ministry of Commerce carried out around 383,000 inspection visits and processed some 443,000 consumer-protection reports through September 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard shoppers and enforce market rules across the Kingdom.
The Ministry said artificial intelligence has been introduced to process commercial reports and help direct field inspection operations more efficiently. During the period, 58 recall campaigns were launched, covering 222,410 vehicles and 8,508 products found to pose potential risks to consumers.
On commercial-concealment enforcement, more than 34,000 inspection visits were conducted. Authorities logged 1,066 initial suspected cases and confirmed 77 violations.
How consumers can file a report
Residents can submit a consumer complaint free of charge through the Ministry's Commercial Report application or by calling 1900. In the app, users log in through نفاذ, choose "New Report," identify whether the business is an online or physical store, select the type of violation, enter the establishment and item details, describe the incident, upload supporting documents, confirm the information, and submit.
Supporting evidence usually includes the purchase invoice and photographs. For online-store complaints, the order number, store link, images, and a description of the issue may also be required. There is no fixed fee, permit, or validity period tied to filing a report.
Reports are processed within up to seven working days and can be submitted, queried, and tracked entirely online without visiting a ministry branch. The 1900 telephone line operates from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
