Energy Ministry Logs 847 Violations in August 2026

The Ministry of Energy said its inspection teams carried out 10,746 regulatory visits across Saudi Arabia during August 2026, recording 847 violations of rules governing petroleum and petrochemical materials and the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for residential and commercial use.

the most common breaches included conducting petroleum or petrochemical operations without the required licenses, selling LPG cylinders at retail without a license, and failing to comply with the approved gas tariff for dry gas and LPG. Teams also documented the transport and sale of petroleum materials through unlicensed carriers, as well as the use of petroleum products for purposes other than those they are designated for.

The violations fall under three regulatory frameworks: the petroleum materials system, the petrochemical materials system, and the rules governing the distribution of dry gas and LPG for homes and businesses. The visits are part of ongoing nationwide inspection campaigns targeting compliance at fuel, gas and petrochemical facilities.

How to report violations

Residents and businesses can report issues at fuel stations and service centers — including fuel quality, metering, licensing status and other non-compliance — through the Partner Care Center on 1914 or 8001244777, the Partner Service mobile application, or the official X account of the Permanent Executive Committee for Fuel Stations and Service Centers (@FSEC_KSA).

Serious cases, such as tampering with fuel pump readings or altering quantities sold, can lead to full or partial closure of stations and referral to the Public Prosecution under the Law of Calibration and Measurements and the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law. Repeated or severe breaches carry tougher penalties. The oversight matters to households and small businesses because it helps ensure fair pricing, accurate measurement and safe handling of fuel and gas across the Kingdom.
