A new graduate empowerment program aimed at qualifying young talent for media jobs was launched on 19 April 2026 across Saudi Arabia, with its first phase covering more than 300 trainees.
Run by a dedicated news training academy in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund, the program spans 12 months and offers eight specialized media training diplomas designed to prepare participants for careers in the sector.
The first cohort brought together trainees drawn from 26 local and international universities and 22 cities across the Kingdom. Organizers selected the participants from a pool of more than 10,000 applicants, reflecting strong interest among recent graduates in building careers in media.
Why it matters
For young Saudis and residents looking to enter the media field, the initiative offers a structured pathway that combines specialized training with a clear focus on employment. By covering multiple diploma tracks over a full year, the program gives trainees time to develop practical skills across different areas of media work.
The wide geographic reach — with trainees from more than 20 cities — signals an effort to open opportunities beyond major urban centers, supporting broader access to professional development for graduates nationwide.
