A new media training program launched in April 2026 aims to qualify more than 300 trainees for careers in the media sector, in what marks the first cohort of the initiative. The program runs for 12 months and is based at the Saudi Press Agency complex in the Al-Sahafa district of Riyadh.
Trainees were selected from more than 10,000 applicants and represent graduates of 26 local and international universities, coming from 22 cities across the Kingdom. The program is supported by the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) and is delivered in partnership with the Saudi Press Agency.
The initiative offers eight specialized media diplomas. Announced tracks cover news and media production, graphics, translation and communication, as well as media planning and impact, giving participants practical skills across a range of newsroom and production roles.
Why it matters
With demand for qualified media professionals rising in the Kingdom, structured programs of this scale help open pathways for young Saudis into a growing sector. The wide reach across universities and cities reflects a broad effort to build local talent in journalism, production, and communication.
There is no confirmed information about registration fees or a set price for the supported program in the available details. Likewise, there is no confirmed information about current application steps or the use of any government platform for registration, nor about the validity period of the certificates or any recent changes to fees or admission requirements.
