A group of 433 young Saudi men and women presented a media project titled "Best of My City" to mark Saudi National Day, spotlighting the cultural identity and landmarks of their hometowns across the Kingdom.
The participants came from 28 Saudi cities and 23 Saudi universities, representing all 13 regions of the Kingdom. Their work was produced during a six-week training camp run by the Saudi Press Agency Academy, and the outputs were published in daily batches throughout the National Day period.
What set the project apart was its use of artificial intelligence to create media content about Saudi cities and governorates. The trainees turned the technology toward familiar subjects: cultural heritage, well-known landmarks, local products, traditional crafts, festivals, natural sites, and tourist attractions.
Why it matters
For residents and expats alike, the project offers a fresh, locally produced look at the diversity of Saudi cities beyond the largest hubs. By drawing talent from dozens of cities and universities, the camp gives young Saudis practical experience in modern media tools while building a growing archive of content that celebrates the country's places and traditions.
The activity was a media-training showcase rather than a paid public attraction. No fees, ticketing, registration steps, venue details, or operating hours were announced. The initiative was organized through the Saudi Press Agency Academy.
