Saudi National Day 2026: Cities Host Community Events

Municipalities across Saudi Arabia organized cultural, entertainment, community, and sports activities to mark Saudi National Day 2026, observed on Wednesday, 23 September, under the slogan “Our Pride Lies in Our Nature.” Celebrations spanned major cities and smaller regions, offering residents and expats a wide range of free and paid experiences.

Riyadh Region Municipality designated 156 celebration sites featuring heritage performances, cultural and artistic presentations, children’s activities, interactive booths, shopping areas, and food areas. In the south, Jazan Municipality prepared 50 municipal facilities and 450 commercial establishments for the occasion.

Fireworks were scheduled for 9:00 p.m. on 23 September in Riyadh, Al-Khobar, Madinah, Jeddah, Hail, Arar, Al-Baha, Tabuk, and Buraidah, though some fireworks and drone displays were later postponed until further notice. Air shows were staged in Jeddah on 18 and 20 September at 5:00 p.m. at Jeddah Waterfront and Roshan Waterfront Beach near Jeddah Hilton; in Riyadh on 22 and 23 September at 4:00 p.m. at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham; and in Al-Khobar on 26 and 27 September at 4:30 p.m. along Al-Khobar Corniche near the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Science and Technology Center.

Family and cultural experiences

At the Jeddah Sailing Center on the البحر الأحمر coast, the 2026 Arab Sailing Championship brought together around 90 young sailors from 13 Arab countries. مركز الملك عبدالعزيز الثقافي العالمي (إثراء) in Dhahran offered 36 National Day experiences from 22–26 September, including workshops, films, digital art, live music, folk performances, and a military parade. Bujairi Terrace in الدرعية welcomed visitors with free entry, workshops, interactive musical performances, and a henna corner, while Via Riyadh hosted VIA Orchestra performances from 23–25 September, 7:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

For families seeking indoor fun, Xtreme Play at Sultan Mall in جدة offered a National Day monthly pass for SAR 196, with standard day entry set at SAR 89 on weekdays and SAR 129 on weekends and public holidays. The variety of events reflects how the national celebration has grown into a nationwide season of community activity.
