International schools across Saudi Arabia joined the Kingdom in celebrating the 96th Saudi National Day on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, with a wide range of cultural activities that introduced students to Saudi heritage and traditions.
Participating schools organized traditional music and dance performances, showcases of Saudi food and clothing, art displays, and Arabic-language activities. Students also took part in presentations covering the Kingdom's history and heritage, giving them a hands-on connection to the country's culture.
Museums and cultural venues join in
Beyond the classroom, several cultural institutions marked the occasion. In Dhahran, Ithra hosted a five-day National Day program running from September 22 to 26, featuring workshops, films, digital art, live music, traditional performances, and 36 cultural experiences.
In Riyadh, the National Museum of Saudi Arabia opened its own National Day cultural program beginning September 23, while in Jeddah the Red Sea Museum and the Tarek Abdulhakim Museum offered similar programs on the same date.
Across multiple cities, public celebrations included fireworks, drone displays, airshows, parades, cultural performances, and heritage activities, bringing residents and visitors together to mark the day.
For the Kingdom's large expatriate community, the school activities offered families a meaningful way for children to learn about Saudi culture and feel part of the national celebrations, strengthening ties between newcomers and their host country.
