Saudi students studying abroad are preparing to bring the spirit of the Kingdom's National Day to campuses and communities around the world, marking the occasion — observed annually on 23 September — with a series of volunteer-led celebrations. In 2026, the day marks the 96th Saudi National Day under the identity “Our Pride is in Our Nature” (Ezzna Betab'na).
Among the largest planned gatherings, a Saudi student association in Melbourne, Australia, has scheduled a five-hour family celebration for more than 1,000 guests at St Kilda Town Hall on 26 September 2026. The event is part of a wider movement of student-organized activities showcasing Saudi identity to international audiences.
These celebrations typically feature Saudi heritage displays, cultural exchange, traditional food and clothing, music, exhibitions, games, and presentations highlighting Vision 2030. Organized by student volunteers, the events aim to share the Kingdom's culture with fellow students and local communities while giving Saudis abroad a way to stay connected to home.
Why it matters
For Saudi families with relatives studying overseas, these campus events offer a meaningful way to celebrate the national occasion far from the Kingdom, and they help build cultural bridges in host communities. Practical arrangements such as venue approval, insurance, food service, public-event permissions, and any admission pricing are set by the host university, the venue, and local authorities in each country. No Saudi-government fee, permit, or standard procedure applies to student celebrations held abroad.
