The Ministry of Commerce carried out 383,000 inspection visits and processed 443,000 consumer-protection reports across Saudi Arabia during 2026 through September, as part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard shoppers and monitor the market.
During the same period, the Ministry launched 58 vehicle-recall campaigns covering 222,410 vehicles and 8,508 products, reflecting a wide-reaching oversight role that touches both residents and expats who shop online and in stores.
How to file a commercial report
Consumers can submit a report free of charge through the Commercial Report application or the Ministry of Commerce's electronic service. Login is completed using National Access (Nafath). The steps include: choosing a new report, identifying whether the store is online or physical, selecting the violation, entering the establishment and product details, describing the incident, and attaching supporting documents such as photographs and an invoice before confirming and submitting.
The stated processing period is 7 working days, and reports can be tracked electronically without the need to visit a Ministry branch. The service is available in both Arabic and English.
For questions or assistance, the Ministry's official contact channel is 1900, available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, seven days a week.
For the community, these figures underline how straightforward it has become to report a faulty product, a pricing dispute, or a recalled item, giving families and individuals a clear, no-cost route to protect their rights as consumers.
