National Museum Riyadh Hosts Heritage Programs in 2026

The National Museum of Saudi Arabia, located at the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh's Al Murabba district, is set to host two community cultural programs in 2026 that highlight traditional crafts, live music, storytelling, and family-friendly activities in support of local heritage.

The first program, marking Founding Day and Ramadan, is titled "Memory of the Home" and runs nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. between 19 February and 6 March 2026. Its Founding Day theme takes place from 19 to 22 February, while the Ramadan Nights theme extends through 6 March. Visitors can enjoy heritage-inspired displays, storytelling sessions, food experiences, interactive activities, outdoor games, and performances such as "Shadow Theater – In Their Footsteps."

The experience features an interactive heritage map called "Keys to the Home," a traditional market setup named "Ajawid's Store," puzzle-based storytelling in "Stories from Our Museum," a traditional garments showcase titled "Dresses of Honor," and cultural-symbol matching games known as "Testaments of Home." Themed photo booths inspired by Saudi homes and outdoor games suitable for children and adults round out the family offerings.

The second program celebrates International Museum Day 2026 over three days, from 14 to 16 May. It brings together panel discussions, interactive workshops, live cultural performances, and musical events for all ages, with a focus on heritage, identity, and cultural dialogue. Admission to all galleries and activities during this program is free of charge.

These programs give residents and families in Riyadh accessible ways to connect with Saudi heritage and cultural traditions. Detailed hourly schedules vary by activity, so visitors are encouraged to check the museum's official channels closer to each event.
