New Multiple-Entry Umrah Visa: 1-Year Validity

Saudi Living reports that a new multiple-entry Umrah visa has been introduced, giving pilgrims greater flexibility in planning their trips and choosing how long to stay. The dedicated Umrah visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue and allows unlimited entries during that year.

Under the visa, the total permitted stay inside the Kingdom is 90 cumulative days across all entries during the one-year validity. Once that 90-day balance is used up, no further entry is allowed on the visa. Entry is permitted through air, land, and sea ports, and the visa is automatically suspended after each exit, then reactivated for the next visit once the required service package and Umrah permit are issued and all conditions are met.

Importantly, a mahram is not required, so women may use this visa without a male guardian. The visa cannot be used for Hajj and is inactive during the Hajj season from 1 Dhul Qi'dah to 13 Dhul Hijjah each year, meaning no entries can be processed during that period.

How to apply

Applications are made through Nusuk, the official platform for Hajj and Umrah services, where the multiple-entry option is selected under the Umrah visa service. For each visit, pilgrims must purchase a service package from an approved provider via Nusuk, with the package duration not exceeding the remaining days on the 90-day balance. Before every entry, a separate Umrah permit must be obtained through Nusuk, with permit dates matching the approved package.

On costs, the core government fee for a dedicated Umrah visa in 2026 is around SAR 300, with mandatory medical insurance adding roughly SAR 100 to SAR 180, bringing a typical official total to around SAR 400 to SAR 480. Service packages purchased via Nusuk are additional and vary by provider and hotel category.

The new option is expected to make repeat Umrah visits easier for residents of the region and pilgrims worldwide who wish to return more than once within a single year.
