Rafha Museum Displays Over 40 Rare Rifles

A private heritage museum in Rafha Governorate in the Northern Borders Region is drawing history enthusiasts with a dedicated exhibition of rare firearms. The Found Influence from the Past Museum, licensed by the national Museums Commission, currently displays more than 40 rare rifles alongside thousands of other heritage items.

The firearms section features historically significant pieces, including a Brno rifle and a "Sharfa Canadian" rifle, gathered from across the Northern Borders Region. These form part of a wider collection of more than 10,000 heritage and historical artifacts, spanning weapons, swords, shields, coins, pottery, old vehicles, and vintage devices.

The museum currently welcomes visitors free of charge, placing special emphasis on students and heritage enthusiasts. As a private museum, it does not follow fixed published opening hours; visits are typically arranged directly with the museum's management or owner, particularly for group and student tours. There is no published entry fee, and access is on a per-visit basis without memberships or multi-day passes.

How to visit

Those interested can contact the museum in Rafha to schedule a visit at an agreed time. On arrival, guests are received and guided through the heritage sections, including the rare rifle display. Booking through national e-platforms is not required for general public visits; coordination is made directly with the museum.

The museum reflects the growing role of licensed private collections in preserving local history. For residents and visitors in the Northern Borders Region, it offers a rare window into traditional weaponry and the everyday material culture of the area, adding to the broader network of heritage sites and museums across the region.
