The Security and History Dialogue 2026 wrapped up in Riyadh after drawing more than 5,200 visitors over three days. Organized by the Ministry of Interior under the theme “Our History and Our Future: Security and Development,” the event ran from 6 to 8 September 2026 at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter, under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior.
The program brought together more than 160 speakers from inside and outside Saudi Arabia across over 50 dialogue and interactive sessions, adding up to more than 60 hours of content. In total, over 30 entities and institutions took part.
Sessions explored the link between security and development, the evolution of state security institutions, national identity and citizenship, moderation and awareness, international relations, and the role of security in protecting national gains while supporting investment and quality of life.
Visitors also toured an exhibition featuring rare historical photos, original documents and materials tracing three centuries of Saudi security experience and civilizational heritage. The event combined sessions, the exhibition and multimedia content into a single integrated experience.
For residents and the wider community in Riyadh, the dialogue offered a rare public window into the historical roots of the Kingdom's institutions and how security connects to daily life, investment and development goals. Presented as a national conference rather than a commercial attraction, the event highlighted the country's heritage while looking ahead to its future priorities.
