Delivery companies in Saudi Arabia handled 132.3 million orders during the second quarter of 2026, a 30.5% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, The rise reflects the country's rapidly expanding e-commerce and last-mile logistics activity.
Riyadh region led all areas with 44% of total orders during the quarter, followed by Makkah region at 22%, the Eastern Province at 16%, and Madinah at 5%, with the remaining volume distributed across other regions of the Kingdom.
The growth continues a steady upward trend. Order volumes rose from 103 million in the third quarter of 2025 to 124 million in the fourth quarter, dipped slightly to 118 million in the first quarter of 2026, then climbed to 132.3 million in the second quarter. E-commerce transactions have been a primary driver, reaching 118 million in the first quarter of 2026 — a 49% year-on-year jump.
Sector expansion behind the numbers
Commercial registers in the e-commerce sector grew 23% in the second quarter of 2026 to 48,497 active registers, while logistics-sector registers rose 25% to 29,856, including 13,959 in Riyadh and 7,810 in Makkah Province.
Earlier figures for 2024 showed more than 290 million orders fulfilled, with average delivery time cut from 45 to 35 minutes, supported by 140,000 Saudi drivers and 302,000 non-Saudi drivers. The last-mile delivery market is valued at about USD 0.86 billion in 2026, projected to reach USD 1.25 billion by 2031.
For residents, the trend means faster deliveries and wider service coverage across major cities, backed by Vision 2030 investments of roughly SAR 280 billion in transport and logistics corridors.
