Saudi Arabia recorded a merchandise trade surplus of about SAR 61.52 billion in the second quarter of 2026, an annual increase of roughly 62% compared with the same period a year earlier. The figures reflect a widening gap between the value of goods the Kingdom sold abroad and what it imported.
Total merchandise exports reached around SAR 285.98 billion in the quarter, up about 4% year-on-year, while imports fell about 5% to roughly SAR 224.46 billion. Oil exports climbed about 9% to around SAR 203.42 billion, while non-oil exports eased about 6% to some SAR 82.6 billion.
Compared with the previous quarter, the surplus grew about 60%, rising by more than SAR 33.9 billion from a Q4 2025 surplus of roughly SAR 56.5 billion. On a monthly basis, June 2026 saw exports of about SAR 87.8 billion against imports of SAR 70.4 billion, leaving a surplus of around SAR 17.3 billion.
For the first half of 2026, the cumulative trade surplus reached about SAR 155 billion, up around 53% year-on-year, with total foreign trade value exceeding SAR 1 trillion.
For residents and businesses, a stronger trade balance signals continued economic momentum and healthy demand for Saudi goods abroad.
