Saudi Arabia has approved a Unified National Visa Platform operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) as the official system for issuing and managing all types of visas. The move centralizes services that were previously spread across separate MOFA e-services and the Visit Saudi visa system into a single national platform.
The platform is designated as the sole official channel for electronic visa applications, payments, and management for foreign nationals. It covers visit, tourism, work, business, family, Hajj and Umrah, and transit visas, with technical integration to other government systems where needed. Access is through MOFA's official visa portal and integrated national platforms.
How it works and how fees are paid
Applicants create an account on the MOFA visa system, select their visa type, complete the online form, upload required documents, pay fees through the electronic payment gateway, and then track their application until they receive the electronic visa or authorization. MOFA's Visa Fees Payment service on the national portal remains the standard mechanism for settling government fees.
The platform uses a unified electronic payment interface that combines government visa fees, digital processing and service fees, mandatory health insurance premiums where required, and any applicable recruitment or labor levies routed to the Ministry of Human Resources for work-related visas.
For the tourist eVisa, the government visa fee is 300 SAR, mandatory medical insurance ranges between 180 and 235 SAR, and the online platform fee is 55 SAR, bringing a typical all-inclusive total of around 535 SAR. The tourist eVisa is valid for one year with multiple entries, allowing stays of up to 90 days For eligible nationalities using Visa on Arrival, the government fee is 300 SAR with mandatory medical insurance of about 180 SAR.
For residents and expats, the change means a clearer, single point of reference for applying and paying, reducing confusion over which channel to use for different visa categories.
