Saudi Encyclopedia Launches Edition for Young Readers

A new educational encyclopedia aimed at young readers in the Kingdom has been published, offering children and teenagers an accessible guide to Saudi history, culture, and nature. The Encyclopedia of Saudi Arabia for Children and Young People was released by the King Abdulaziz Public Library across nine volumes.

The edition is designed for readers aged between 9 and 15 years, with content tailored to their interests and reading level. It brings together a wide range of topics in one reference set, covering the country's history, geography, and archaeological sites, alongside customs, traditions, and cultural life.

The volumes also explore the Kingdom's economy, natural resources, wildlife, tourism, and recreation, giving young readers a broad picture of the land and its heritage. To support learning, the encyclopedia is richly illustrated, featuring roughly 1,800 photographs, 625 illustrations, 100 tables, and 40 maps.

Why it matters

Reference material written specifically for younger audiences remains valuable for families, schools, and libraries across the Kingdom. By presenting national history and culture in an age-appropriate format, the edition offers parents and educators a dedicated tool to introduce Saudi heritage to the next generation. For expat families raising children in the Kingdom, it also provides a structured way to learn about their host country.

Details such as price, purchase channels, and availability were not announced alongside the release. Saudi Living will share further information as it becomes available.
