The National Center for Wildlife has set the 2026–2027 regulated hunting season in Saudi Arabia to run from 1 September 2026 through 31 January 2027, with updated rules on permitted species, licensing, and penalties for violations.
a valid hunting license is required before any hunting activity, and the license is issued only after payment of the financial dues determined by the Center. Hunting is prohibited outside the set season, as well as at night — specifically from one hour before sunset until one hour after sunrise.
What's new this season
For the 2026–2027 season, 30 species are permitted for hunting. The national quota has been increased by 11%, while the number of issued licenses has risen by 34% compared with previous arrangements, reflecting an effort to balance access with the sustainable management of wildlife populations.
Penalties for violations
The regulations set clear financial penalties. Hunting without a license carries a fine of SAR 10,000. Hunting in prohibited places and areas is subject to a SAR 5,000 fine, and hunting during prohibited seasons or times also carries a SAR 5,000 penalty.
For residents and hunting enthusiasts, the message is to secure the proper license and confirm permitted species, areas, and timings before heading out. Exact permit fees and the detailed application steps for this season can be checked through the National Center for Wildlife's own services, and hunters should verify all requirements ahead of the season's start.
