Saudi Investor & Business Visit Visa: Steps and Fees

Business travelers and investors looking to explore opportunities in Saudi Arabia have two main entry routes: the visiting investor visa and the business visit visa. Each has its own application channel, requirements, and validity terms, aimed at making commercial travel to the Kingdom smoother.

The visiting investor visa is submitted through the electronic investor-services portal of the وزارة الاستثمار. It is designed for exploring investment opportunities, attending meetings and conferences, signing contracts, and building partnerships. Applicants need a passport valid for at least six months, a personal photograph, and usually an electronic invitation from a Saudi Chamber of Commerce along with a copy of the host company's commercial registration. Those without a Saudi host can instead attach documents describing their occupation or business.

The investor visa may be issued as single- or multiple-entry, with validity and permitted stay set and it must be used only for commercial purposes. Extensions are handled electronically through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform, subject to eligibility. No fixed amount is published in the current investor guide; applicants pay the government-service fees shown during the application.

Business visit visa

For the business visit visa, a Saudi company or institution submits the request through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs electronic visa platform on behalf of one or more professionally qualified visitors who have a business relationship with the inviting entity. The host provides visitor and company details, invitation information, and required documents, obtains authentication where needed, submits electronically, and pays the displayed visa, insurance, and service charges. Issuance is completed through the designated Saudi mission or an authorized visa center.

Validity and permitted stay depend on the issued visa and nationality-specific rules. A visit visa may generally be extended up to a total of 180 days, subject to the applicable rules and medical-insurance requirements. A published consular schedule lists SAR 200 for a single-entry business visa, SAR 500 for a multiple-entry visa, and SAR 1,000 for a VIP business visa, with additional insurance, service, and application-center charges possible.

For residents and companies in the Kingdom, understanding the right channel — the investor-services portal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform, or a Saudi Chamber of Commerce — can save time and help ensure a smooth business trip.
