Saudi sports leaders have called for stronger cooperation among families, schools, universities, and sports organisations to discover and nurture young athletes across the Kingdom. The push aims to build clearer pathways from classrooms and campuses into organised competition.

The appeal highlights the roles of the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Education, which cooperate on student sports and talent development, alongside the Saudi Universities Sports Federation. That federation organises university sports activities, supports student athletes, supervises competitions, and works with national sports federations.

Expanding student participation

The Saudi Sports for All Federation runs programmes in schools and universities to raise physical activity levels. A cooperation agreement between the federation and King Abdulaziz University supports student activities, opens university sports facilities, and backs community-sport events and participation programmes.

The agreement sets an annual target of at least 500 participants in its sports programmes and events, giving students a concrete route to regular physical activity and competition.

For families in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, closer links between education and sport can mean earlier identification of talented young players and more accessible community activities. These cooperation initiatives involve no fees or government application procedures, making participation straightforward for students and residents.
