Saudi oil exports are projected to average 5.55 million barrels per day during the first half of October 2026, marking the second-highest monthly level since late February,
The figure comes after a strong September, when exports averaged 7.16 million barrels per day — the highest reading since late February. That month, exports had peaked at 7.33 million barrels per day.
The decline in early October was driven by lower volumes from two of the Kingdom's main export terminals. Shipments from Ras Tanura averaged 2.98 million barrels per day in the first half of October, down from 4.16 million in September. Yanbu exports eased to 2.34 million barrels per day, compared with 2.54 million during the comparable September period.
Why it matters
Oil exports remain a key pillar of the Saudi economy, shaping government revenues and broader development spending. While month-to-month export levels naturally fluctuate with maintenance schedules, seasonal demand, and market conditions, tracking these movements offers residents and businesses a useful snapshot of the Kingdom's economic momentum.
For the wider community, steady export performance supports the ongoing investment in infrastructure, jobs, and services across Riyadh, Jeddah, and other regions. Export figures for the full month of October will become clearer as additional shipping data is finalized.
