Saudi stocks closed August 2026 as the best-performing benchmark in the Gulf, with the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rising 5.07% over the month to end at 11,127.08 points on 31 August — a gain of 537.36 points from the previous month.
Market authorities and financial reports attributed the rally to a combination of higher oil prices, solid corporate earnings, and stabilizing regional conditions that lifted investor sentiment. The index reached its highest close for the month at 11,259.90 points on 26 August, before easing slightly to end the month, with a daily change of about -0.28% on 31 August.
The August performance placed Saudi equities ahead of other GCC markets for the month, while the index maintained a positive year-to-date return of roughly 5.6% to 6.1% by the end of August. Trading remained active, with daily turnover on the Saudi Exchange typically around SAR 5.1 billion on busy sessions. On 27 August, the index closed near 11,238 points, down 0.2% for the day, with turnover of about SAR 5.1 billion.
Momentum cooled slightly in early September. By 2 September 2026, TASI was trading around 11,012 points after a daily decline of about 0.8%, though it still held a positive year-to-date return above 5%.
For residents and investors, the market's strength through August reflects steadier conditions across the wider economy and continued interest in Saudi companies. While short-term swings remain normal, the sustained year-to-date gains point to underlying confidence in the Kingdom's financial market as the year progresses.
