Saudi Main Index Ends September at Monthly Low

Saudi Arabia's main stock market wrapped up September on a downbeat note, with the Tadawul All Share Index closing on September 30, 2026 at 10,440.64 points — its lowest closing level for the entire month.

The index slipped 15 points, or 0.14%, in the session, capping a soft month for the Saudi Exchange Main Market. Over the course of September, the benchmark declined by roughly 6.2%, shedding about 700 points from where it began the month.

Trading value on the day stood at approximately SAR 4.2 billion, reflecting steady activity even as the index retreated to its monthly floor.

Why it matters

The Tadawul All Share Index is the primary gauge of listed company performance in the Kingdom and is closely watched by investors, savers, and businesses across Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond. A softer September means many widely held shares ended the month below their earlier valuations.

For residents and expats who invest through local brokerages or hold shares in listed firms, the monthly decline is a reminder that markets move in both directions. The figures above relate strictly to the Saudi Exchange Main Market and do not reflect the parallel Nomu market or any other exchange.
