Saudi Arabia's under-16 football team claimed a 2–0 victory over Kuwait in the 2026 Gulf Football Federation Under-17 Gulf Cup, played at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.
Both goals came from Abdulaziz Al-Nahidh, who opened the scoring in the 14th minute and sealed the result with his second strike in the 58th minute. The dominant performance handed the young Saudi side a much-needed boost in Group B.
The win lifted Saudi Arabia to four points in the group standings. It followed a difficult start to the tournament, in which the team suffered a 5–0 defeat to Egypt before holding Yemen to a 1–1 draw.
The result marks an important recovery for the national youth setup, keeping Saudi Arabia in contention as the group stage continues. For young football fans across the Kingdom, the performance highlights the progress being made at grassroots and development levels of the national game.
The Under-17 Gulf Cup brings together the region's emerging talent, offering a competitive platform for the next generation of Gulf footballers to test themselves on an international stage.
