Getting connected is one of the first things you'll sort out after arriving in Saudi Arabia — whether you're setting up a home in الرياض, جدة or الدمام, or just need reliable data on your phone. The market is dominated by three national operators: إس تي سي, موبايلي and زين. Each offers home fiber, mobile data and 5G fixed-wireless internet, and prices are competitive in 2026. This guide from سعودي ليفنج breaks down what each provider offers and how to pick the right one for your situation.
Home fiber: the mainstream choice
If you're renting an apartment or villa in a serviced building, fiber is usually the best-value, most stable option. Entry-level home fiber (around 100–200 Mbps) typically lands in the 160–200 ريال سعودي mid-tier 500 Mbps runs roughly 250–350 ريال سعودي, and gigabit plans (about 1 Gbps) sit around 400–600 ريال سعودي.
- إس تي سي: plans start from about 99 ريال سعودي/month for roughly 100 Mbps “Jood” fiber, rising to around 299 ريال سعودي/month for 1 Gbps, often bundled with a Wi‑Fi 6 router and 24/7 support.
- موبايلي: around 89 ريال سعودي/month for 100 Mbps, with mid-tier ~300 Mbps in the 149–249 ريال سعودي range; some plans include a free router and installation.
- زين: from about 79 ريال سعودي/month for 100 Mbps, value-oriented unlimited 100 Mbps around 220 ريال سعودي, and higher tiers up to ~400 Mbps around 199 ريال سعودي.
Note that a router rental, if you don't buy one, usually adds about 50 ريال سعودي/month. Always confirm that fiber is physically available at your exact address before signing — coverage varies building by building.
5G home internet: for areas without fiber
If fiber hasn't reached your building, 5G fixed-wireless is an excellent alternative. You get a plug-in router that runs on the mobile network, usually with unlimited data.
- إس تي سي 5G: plans start around 399 ريال سعودي/month, with an annual payment option of about 3,865 ريال سعودي/year (roughly a 19% discount).
- موبايلي 5G: basic unlimited around 114.25 ريال سعودي/month, entry marketing offers as low as about 25 ريال سعودي/month, mid-tier around 160.25 ريال سعودي/month, and premium options up to 373 ريال سعودي
- زين 5G: budget-positioned unlimited around 299 ريال سعودي/month, with a “Home Plus” option around 289–299 ريال سعودي/month.
Mobile data bundles
For your phone, all three offer generous monthly prepaid-style bundles. Heavy streamers should look at the unlimited tiers, while most users will be comfortable on 50–150 GB.
Prepaid SIMs and eSIM
All three operators issue both physical SIMs and eSIM, available at airport kiosks and official brand stores across the major cities. Bring your residency document or passport, as SIMs must be registered to your ID.
- A موبايلي SIM example: 30 ريال سعودي including 25 ريال سعودي of credit.
- زين prepaid data examples: 10 GB for 90 days at 110 ريال سعودي, or 75 GB for 90 days at 199 ريال سعودي.
eSIM is handy if you want to activate a Saudi number before you even collect a physical SIM — useful for new arrivals who need to receive verification codes quickly.
Activation and account management
Once you have a SIM, you manage bundles through each operator's own app and channels rather than any government platform. For إس تي سي prepaid, activation and bundle management is handled mainly via SMS to 900, the STC Pay/STC app, and the MySTC online account. موبايلي and زين have equivalent apps for topping up, adding bundles and checking usage.
How to choose
There's no single “best” provider — it depends on your address and habits:
- Best coverage and support: إس تي سي generally has the widest fiber footprint and round-the-clock support.
- Best value entry pricing: زين often leads on the cheapest entry tiers for both fiber and unlimited mobile.
- Bundled extras: موبايلي frequently includes free router and installation, and has aggressive 5G entry offers.
Before committing, confirm real coverage at your address, check contract length, and verify the latest prices and promotions directly with the operator, as offers change frequently.
