63,000+ Saudi Families Own First Home in Early 2026

More than 63,000 Saudi families became first-time homeowners during the first half of 2026, a milestone that reflects continued progress toward the national goal of raising household homeownership across the Kingdom.

In total, 63,076 Saudi families moved into their first homes between January and June 2026, including 12,004 families during June alone. Over the same period, 48,631 families received housing-support services designed to help them secure suitable accommodation.

Since the Sakani subsidized housing program launched in 2017, the number of beneficiary contracts has reached 1,046,890 as of the end of June 2026. The program offers families a range of options, including completed housing units, units still under construction, self-build support, and residential land.

Homeownership nears the national target

Saudi household homeownership stood at 66.24% at the end of 2025, moving closer to the Housing Program target of 70%. To widen access to land, authorities plan to make between 10,000 and 40,000 residential plots available annually over five years, at prices not exceeding SAR 1,500.

For residents and families following the Kingdom's housing push, these figures point to steadily expanding options for ownership, from ready-built homes to affordable plots for those who prefer to build. Applicants should check the latest requirements and available options through official channels, as details on fees, financing, eligibility periods, and procedures may vary.
