Saudi Sports Culture Federation Names New Board

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Sport, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, has approved the formation of a new board for the Saudi Sports Culture Federation, the body confirmed. The approval was issued in January 2024, with the federation later announcing a board covering the 2025–2028 term.

Suleiman bin Omar Al-Jalaoud was appointed chairman of the federation. The board also includes six members: Mohammed bin Saad Al-Dossary, Asaad Arefah, Nawal Abdullah Al-Issa, Abdulaziz Saud Al-Otaibi, Waad Abdullah Al-Fawaz, and Mohammed Saleh Al-Sulaiman.

Why it matters

The federation works to develop sports culture across the Kingdom, supporting awareness, research, and activities that broaden public understanding of sport and its role in society. Confirming a leadership team for a multi-year term gives the organization continuity to plan and deliver its programs.

For residents and families, a more organized sports culture sector can mean a wider range of community events, educational initiatives, and opportunities to engage with sport beyond competition. The developments align with the broader national push to grow Saudi Arabia's sporting landscape and encourage healthier, more active lifestyles.

Further details on the federation's upcoming programs for the 2025–2028 term are expected to be shared as plans progress.
