Taif Racing Season Week 3 Begins at Taif Racecourse

The 2026 summer horse racing season in Taif enters its third week this weekend at King Khalid Racecourse, with two full evenings of competition on Friday and Saturday. The season, which runs from 24 July to 26 September 2026, holds meetings every Friday and Saturday, with racing typically taking place from approximately 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Week three features 11 races each evening, for a total of 22 races, with combined prize money of SAR 1,475,000. The headline event is the Al Hada Cup, a race for three-year-old horses over 1,400 meters, offering a winner's prize of SAR 150,000. The winning time this year was recorded at 1:33.64. The week also includes a prep race for the Al Shafa Cup, an open-grade contest over 2,000 meters with a purse of SAR 120,000.

King Khalid Racecourse sits in Taif city, on the western edge near the Al Hada plateau, and operates as a Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia venue. It remains active throughout the 2026 season, which also carries feature events such as the National Day Cup, the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup, the Taif Derby, the Arabian Derby and the Sprint Championships.

How to attend

General spectator entry is advertised as free, subject to advance booking through the WeBook electronic platform. Visitors select the Taif Racing Season event and race date, choose a ticket type, complete their details and confirm the booking. An electronic ticket or QR code is then issued to present at the venue entrance. Special experiences and hospitality areas are listed with starting prices from around SAR 10 and upward, depending on seating and package.

Organizers note that ordinary spectators do not need to complete any Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath or Tawakkalna steps to attend, making it an easy weekend outing for families and racing fans in Taif and nearby cities.
