Saudi Arabia Named Formula E Best Host Country

Saudi Arabia has been named the first-ever recipient of Formula E's new "Best Host Country" award, cementing its growing status on the global motorsport map. The honour was presented during the 2025/26 Formula E End of Season Awards ceremony held in London on Sunday, 17 August 2026.

The newly introduced award recognizes the championship destination that sets a global benchmark across event delivery and organization, infrastructure development, and partnership and collaboration. The Kingdom's selection reflects its role as host of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship since 2018.

The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) is the main national body overseeing the country's motorsport activities and its ongoing involvement in the electric racing series.

Why it matters

For residents and visitors, the recognition underlines the Kingdom's continued investment in hosting world-class sporting events, an area that has drawn growing local and international attention in recent years. It also signals more high-profile racing action to come.

Saudi Arabia is scheduled to host the opening two rounds of the 2026–2027 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on 18–19 December 2026, giving fans another chance to experience the sport live in the Kingdom.
