Saudi Athletics Grand Prix 2026 Lights Up Riyadh

Riyadh hosted the Saudi Athletics Grand Prix 2026 on 15–16 May 2026, bringing together 210 male and female athletes from 40 countries across five continents at the track and field stadium of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

The two-day meeting featured 32 events and was staged as part of the World Athletics Continental Tour at the Bronze level, giving competitors the chance to earn ranking points on an international stage held in the Saudi capital.

Admission was free throughout the event, with tickets issued through the Sanad Tickets application. For those unable to attend in person, the Saudi Athletics Federation offered live coverage on its YouTube channel.

Why it matters

Hosting a continental-level athletics meeting adds to Riyadh's growing calendar of international sporting events and gives residents and fans a chance to watch world-class competition close to home. The wide field — spanning 40 countries and both men's and women's events — reflects the city's expanding role as a venue for global sport.

With free entry and open streaming, organisers made the Grand Prix accessible to a broad audience, from dedicated athletics followers to families looking for an active weekend outing in the capital.
