Riyadh Marathon 2026 Sells Out, Set for January 31

The Riyadh Marathon is returning on 31 January 2026, with the main race set to take place at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in the capital. All race categories for the 2026 edition have been reported as sold out, underlining the event's growing popularity among runners in the Kingdom and beyond.

Ahead of race day, a public Riyadh Marathon Festival is scheduled to run from 28 to 30 January 2026. Entry to the festival is free, giving families, fans, and the wider community a chance to take part in the build-up to the main event.

Official registration for the marathon was handled exclusively through the Riyadh Marathon website. With all categories now closed, organizers confirmed strong demand across the different distances on offer.

Record participation in 2025

The previous edition of the Riyadh Marathon drew 40,494 runners from 131 countries, reflecting the event's increasingly international appeal. Contrary to some reports, participation in that edition did not surpass 50,000 runners.

The marathon has become one of the capital's flagship sporting occasions, bringing together elite athletes, amateur runners, and first-timers. For the community, events like these support an active lifestyle and showcase the city as a destination for large-scale sporting gatherings.

Runners and spectators are advised to rely on official channels for confirmed details on race timing, routes, and festival activities.
