The decline extends a recent run of losing sessions for the benchmark. On 29 July 2026, the index closed lower at 10,544 points on turnover of SAR 5.3 billion, while on 21 June 2026 it finished at 11,077 points with trades of about SAR 2.8 billion.

Why it matters

The market's movements are closely watched by residents and investors across the Kingdom, as trading volumes and index levels reflect broader confidence in the economy. Steady turnover figures point to continued participation despite the pullback in prices.

Investors are advised to follow official market channels and verified data before making decisions, and to weigh both short-term swings and longer-term trends when reviewing their portfolios.
