Saudi Arabia launched Absher Travel for Visitors on 26 October 2026, a new service for GCC nationals and other visitors arriving through the Kingdom's land border crossings. The service is available through the أبشر application and is currently offered at all Saudi land borders.
The service lets travelers prepare their entry before arriving. Users enter their nationality, mobile number, travel-document type, the land crossing they will use, and their expected travel date. They then submit traveler details, vehicle details, and vehicle-insurance information ahead of the journey.
the service supports digital completion of entry procedures as well as electronic arrangement of vehicle insurance, helping reduce paperwork at the crossing itself.
When it becomes mandatory
Use of the service will become mandatory six months after launch — from 26 April 2027 — unless the Ministry of Interior changes the schedule. Visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the steps during this transition period.
The announcement did not publish any fee, bridge-fee amount, insurance price, validity period, or separate visitor-service charge. A separate Absher Travel service for Saudi citizens and residents currently supports King Fahd Causeway and Salwa Border Crossing and allows electronic payment of bridge fees and insurance.
For the many residents and visitors in الرياض, جدة and across the Kingdom who travel by road to and from neighboring countries, the new service aims to make border crossings smoother and faster by completing key steps in advance.
