Al Hilal secured a narrow 1–0 win over Al Hazem in the Saudi Pro League on 19 October 2026, with a late goal lifting the club to the top of the table, at least temporarily.
The match looked set for a goalless draw until the 89th minute, when Gabriel Martinelli found the net to hand Al Hilal all three points. The strike came in the closing stages of the game, rewarding the home side's persistence.
The victory moved Al Hilal to 24 points, placing them in first place in the standings. The lead is temporary, however, as remaining fixtures in the round could shift the order of the top clubs.
For fans across the Kingdom, the result keeps Al Hilal firmly in the title race and sets up an intriguing battle at the summit of the league. Late winners like Martinelli's often prove decisive over a long season, where single points can separate the leading sides by the final rounds.
The Saudi Pro League continues to draw strong attention from supporters in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, with Al Hilal remaining one of the most closely watched teams in the competition.
