Al Qadsiah Edge Al Ahli 3-2 in Pro League Thriller

Al Qadsiah secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Al Ahli in a thrilling Saudi Pro League encounter on 8 September 2026, with midfielder Tijjani Reijnders at the heart of the result.

Reijnders opened the scoring in the 14th minute and doubled Al Qadsiah's lead deep into first-half stoppage time in the 45th+3 minute. Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat added a third goal, also in the closing moments of the first half, to put the hosts firmly in control at the break.

Al Ahli staged a determined second-half comeback through Ivan Toney, who pulled one back in the 63rd minute and struck again in the 82nd minute to set up a tense finish. Despite the late pressure, Al Qadsiah held on for all three points.

Why it matters

The result underlines Al Qadsiah's growing ambitions in the Saudi Pro League and gives the club an early-season statement win against one of the country's most prominent teams. Reijnders' two-goal performance signals his influence on the squad, while Toney's brace keeps Al Ahli's attacking threat clearly on display.

With the league drawing growing interest from fans and families across the Kingdom, high-scoring matches like this continue to boost the appeal of weekend football for residents and expats alike in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond.
