Al-Qadsiah Win as Saudi Trio Start ACL Elite

Saudi clubs Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr opened their 2026–27 AFC Champions League Elite campaigns in the league phase, competing within the West Region standings. Matchday 1 delivered mixed results, with Al-Qadsiah emerging as the only Saudi side to claim victory.

In Dammam, Al-Qadsiah edged Al-Wasl 2–1 in a home fixture, securing three points on the opening day. Al-Hilal also began strongly with a 2–1 home win over Qatar's Al-Gharafa, taking maximum points from their first league-stage match.

Al-Nassr, however, endured a difficult start, falling 4–0 to Al-Ain away at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE. The result left the team on zero points with a goal difference of –4 after the opening round.

The 2026–27 AFC Champions League Elite is organized as a league phase in regional groups, meaning early results carry weight in the final standings.
