Best Family Attractions in Riyadh for a Weekend

Families in Riyadh looking for a weekend outing have a growing range of options, from giant water parks to indoor role-play cities, and none of them require booking through government apps such as أبشر, توكلنا or مقيم. Tickets are purchased directly from each venue or its official booking partner.

Water fun and animals

Aquarabia in القدية, about 45 km southwest of central الرياض, is one of the region's largest water parks with several record-breaking rides. For 2026, adult day tickets start from 325 ريال سعودي, children aged 4–11 pay 200 ريال سعودي, and under-4s enter free. The park runs on a seasonal schedule, mainly during the cooler months, with full-day hours from morning to evening. Bookings are made through the park's official online system or approved ticketing partners.

Closer to the city, the Riyadh Zoo in the Malaz district offers a relaxed two- to three-hour visit with modest entry fees and free admission for children under 3. It opens Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Strollers and wheelchairs are available to rent for a small fee, and cafés are on-site. Tickets are sold at walk-in counters, though during peak events they may be managed through event platforms.

Indoor options

At Riyadh Park Mall on the Northern Ring Road, KidZania lets children try different professions in an indoor "role-play city," with visits typically lasting three to four hours. It follows standard mall hours with multiple daily sessions, and tickets are bought through KidZania's own system or at the entrance.

For active kids, trampoline and "ninja" activity parks are spread across malls and standalone halls citywide, charging roughly 80–120 ريال سعودي with grip socks usually required and sold separately. Most open from late morning until late at night, including weekends.

With varied prices and timings, these venues give residents flexible choices for a half-day or full-day family outing without complicated booking steps.
