Jeddah's warm coastal weather and its long stretch of Red Sea waterfront make it one of the best cities in the Kingdom for outdoor living. Whether you want an early-morning walk before the heat, a family picnic under the palms, or a full day of water fun with the kids, the city has green spaces to suit every mood. In this Saudi Living guide we walk you through two of the most reliable and popular options, with practical details on entry, hours, and how to plan your visit.
Prince Majid Park (حديقة الأمير ماجد)
Located in the Al Rabwah district off the Makrona sub-road, Prince Majid Park is one of Jeddah's largest public green parks. It's a favourite for families thanks to its wide open lawns, shaded walking paths, and dedicated playgrounds for children.
- Entry to the park is free — you do not need a ticket to enjoy the green areas, walking paths, or playgrounds.
- General park hours in recent seasons run from early morning until late at night, making it ideal for both a morning exercise session and a relaxed late-evening visit.
- No government e-platform steps are needed — it operates as a normal public city park.
The Water Park Inside Prince Majid Park
Within the park is a separate water-park attraction (القرية المائية) that is privately managed and requires paid tickets. This is where families with older kids and teens tend to spend the most time.
- A typical full ticket for swimming and water games is around 129 SAR per person.
- A companion or non-rider ticket for facility access is around 39 SAR per person.
- Usual weekday hours: 13:00–22:00; weekends: 13:00–23:00.
- During some Eid and Shawwal periods, opening shifts to around 16:00 and runs into the late evening.
Tickets are usually booked online through the park's own official booking site rather than any government portal. During Jeddah Season 2025, a free-entry window for the water-park area was announced from 11-05-2025 to 14-06-2025 with hours roughly 16:00–24:00 — but outside such festival windows, water-park access is paid.
Middle Corniche Park (منتزه الكورنيش الأوسط)
Set along Jeddah's iconic Corniche, this coastal green park blends lawns and planted areas with sweeping views of the Red Sea. It's the classic Jeddah waterfront experience — perfect for a stroll, a jog, or a sunset picnic by the sea.
- Entry is completely free with no tickets or park fees.
- Open year-round in promenade style, with access at all hours unless municipal maintenance or a special event causes a temporary closure.
- Popular for walking, jogging, family outings, and enjoying the sea breeze and nearby fountain.
- No online booking or government e-platform steps are required.
Tips for Making the Most of Your Visit
- Time it right: Aim for early morning or after sunset to avoid Jeddah's midday heat and humidity.
- Bring water and sun protection: Even shaded parks can get warm, so hats, sunscreen, and refillable bottles are wise.
- Book water-park tickets ahead: On weekends and holidays the water park gets busy, so booking online in advance saves time at the gate.
- Confirm hours before Eid and festival periods: Opening times shift during Eid, Shawwal, and Jeddah Season, so always check the latest announcement before heading out.
Between the family lawns of Prince Majid Park and the breezy waterfront of the Middle Corniche, Jeddah offers plenty of accessible, mostly free green space to enjoy. Plan around the weather, confirm current hours, and you'll have an easy day out with no complicated paperwork required.
