Saudi Civil Defense has lifted all emergency alerts previously issued for the cities of Jazan, Najran, Khamis Mushait, and Abha in the southern regions, after confirming in mid-September 2026 that the assessed danger had passed. All-clear messages were issued through official channels declaring the affected areas safe.
The alerts were security-related, linked to potential threats in the southern regions, and were temporary in nature — valid only for the duration of the assessed threat. Once the danger passed, Civil Defense cancelled them and declared the areas safe.
Both the alerts and the subsequent all-clear notices were delivered through the National Early Warning Platform for emergencies, along with official Civil Defense communication channels, including sirens and public messages.
What residents should do
Authorities urged residents in the affected areas to continue following Civil Defense safety instructions, to avoid gatherings and photography near impacted sites, and to call 998 in the event of any emergency.
There are no fees, service charges, or paid procedures associated with the issuance or lifting of these alerts. Likewise, no mandatory steps involving government platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا have been announced in connection with the lifting of these alerts, and no new regulatory changes or permit requirements have been introduced.
The all-clear is welcome news for residents and expats in the southern cities, allowing daily life to return to normal while staying alert to official guidance.
