Fabinho Leaves Al Ittihad After Three Seasons

Al Ittihad have confirmed the departure of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho in August 2026, closing a three-season chapter with the club. The announcement marks the end of a spell that included two major honours for the player and the team.

During his time with Al Ittihad, Fabinho helped the club lift both the league and the King Cup titles, His contribution came across three campaigns before his contract reached its natural conclusion this summer.

The midfielder leaves as a free agent following the expiry of his deal, meaning no transfer fee was involved in his exit. When he first joined the club in 2023, his move was reported at around €40 million, but no new fee applied at the point of his departure.

Why it matters

Fabinho's arrival was part of a wave of high-profile international signings that raised the profile of Saudi club football and drew wider attention to the domestic game. His departure reflects the natural turnover that comes as squads evolve season to season.

For fans in Riyadh, Jeddah and across the Kingdom, the news closes a memorable period in which the club competed for and won major silverware. Al Ittihad's next steps in rebuilding their midfield will be watched closely as the club looks to build on the successes of recent seasons.
