Al Hilal Signs Brazil Forward Martinelli from Arsenal

Al Hilal has completed the permanent signing of Brazil forward Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal, the club confirmed on 3 September 2026. The player put pen to paper on a four-year contract during a ceremony held at Almajdiah Sport Hub in Riyadh.

the guaranteed transfer fee stands at £60 million, roughly SAR 300 million, with the final figure in riyals depending on the exchange rate at the time of settlement. The agreement is also said to include a sell-on clause benefiting Arsenal in the event of a future transfer.

The deal was subject to the completion of the usual regulatory procedures before being finalised, bringing one of Europe's most watched young attackers to the Saudi game.

Why it matters

The arrival of Martinelli is a significant addition for Al Hilal and for the Saudi Pro League, which has continued to attract high-profile international talent in recent seasons. For fans and residents across Riyadh and beyond, the signing strengthens the competitive profile of the local game and adds another globally recognised name to the league's roster.

Saudi Living will share further updates on the player's debut and competition schedule as they are confirmed.
