Al Nassr Draw Al Hilal 1-1, Later Win League Title

Al Nassr and Al Hilal played out a 1–1 draw in Riyadh on 12 May 2026 in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, a result that stopped short of settling the Saudi Pro League title race.

The high-profile derby ended level, with neither side able to find a decisive advantage. The outcome meant the championship remained undecided heading into the closing stage of the campaign, keeping fans on edge over who would ultimately be crowned.

The wait did not last long. Al Nassr sealed the 2025–26 Saudi Pro League championship on the final day of the season after a commanding 4–1 victory over Damac, converting the earlier stalemate into a title-winning finish.

Why it matters

The Al Nassr–Al Hilal meeting is traditionally one of the biggest dates on the Saudi football calendar, drawing large crowds and widespread attention across the Kingdom. For residents and football fans in Riyadh and beyond, the tense finale added extra drama to a closely contested season.

Al Nassr's title confirmation on the final matchday rewarded a strong campaign and gave supporters a memorable conclusion, underscoring the growing intensity and popularity of domestic competition in Saudi Arabia.
