flyadeal, the Jeddah-based Saudi low-cost carrier, is moving toward key decisions on its aircraft fleet expansion for the years beyond 2030, as part of a long-term strategy to more than triple its fleet from around 32 aircraft today to nearly 100 by the end of the decade.
As part of Saudia Group’s record order for 105 Airbus narrow-body aircraft, flyadeal holds a firm order for 12 A320neo and 39 A321neo. The A320neo will form the backbone of short- and medium-haul operations, while the A321neo—about one-third of its current order book—begins arriving in 2026.
For the first time, the carrier is also expanding into wide-body aircraft. It has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus A330-900 (A330neo), with options for 10 more. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2027, with the initial batch expected to be completed by 2029. These jets are intended for long-haul routes of up to around 13 hours, connecting the Kingdom with South and Southeast Asia, Europe (including the UK and France), and North and Central Africa.
What it means for travellers
The expansion is guided by a structured 10-year fleet plan running through about 2034, mapping where additional aircraft will be deployed across the Saudi domestic and international market. The airline stresses the plan is subject to change as market conditions evolve.
Publicly available details currently cover firm and optional orders and delivery timelines up to 2030–2032. No detailed announcement has yet specified aircraft types, quantities, or financing arrangements beyond 2030—only that flyadeal is preparing to make those decisions. For residents and expats, a larger and longer-range fleet points to more domestic connections and new direct international routes in the years ahead.
