Jazan Region is preparing to showcase its collective memory and living heritage through Jazan Festival 2026, running from 25 December to 15 February under the theme “Jazan: Treasures of Nature.” The festival brings cultural, heritage, tourism, and entertainment activities to Jazan city and its governorates.
At the heart of the programme is the “This is Jazan” zone on the city waterfront, an open cultural area that operates throughout the festival. It presents mountain terraces, coastal towns, island life, traditional markets, crafts, and everyday community routines drawn from all 16 governorates. Each governorate has a dedicated pavilion presenting its local heritage, folk arts, traditional housing patterns, agricultural practices, and coastal and island livelihoods.
Nearby, Jazan Heritage Village on the Corniche represents the region’s mountain, plain, and marine environments. Visitors can explore stone agricultural terraces, coffee farming, fishing traditions, and coastal trade heritage, alongside traditional crafts, live performances, and heritage exhibitions.
The Crafts Market initiative, active during the Year of Handicrafts 2025, continues within the festival to spotlight traditional markets and artisan life, including pottery, palm-frond weaving, textile and leather work, seashell crafts, embroidery, and heritage products. Craft Corner activities typically run on Fridays and Saturdays and peak festival days, with interactive workshops that recreate the atmosphere of historic souqs. Cultural Street adds recreated daily-life scenes such as honey and ghee production, coffee cultivation, and traditional home settings through storytelling and live displays.
Access to the waterfront zones, Cultural Street, and the “This is Jazan” area is generally organized as free or low-cost public entry, with commercial vendors and paid attractions priced on-site by operators. For residents and visitors, the festival offers a rare chance to experience the depth and diversity of Jazan’s culture in one location over nearly two months.
